1. Everything in life is a choice. Don’t succumb to peer pressure. “What would Jesus Do?”. You would rather be alone than to hang out with people who get you to do bad things.
  2. Heart is the most important (Kindness). This more important than your intellect, which is more important than your physical strength.
  3. Strive to always do the right thing even if you don’t feel like it (character).
  4. A lot of people in our society have body image issues. Heavy weightlifting/extreme dieting is a great way to destroy your body and takes up a lot of time. If you get into expensive supplements or drugs then the risk is multiplied. Pro athletes were given gifts by God – they take on these risks because it is their job. You only have a finite amount of time, money, energy and health. Unless it is your calling to be a pro athlete, stick with running, walking, rec sports or light exercise. The girl or guy you want will primarily be into your kindness – not your six pack or biceps.
  5. Not everything in life is a battle to be won. Pick and choose your battles. Being ultra competitive in everything is not a good thing. Kindness is more important than winning. It is never OK to win by cheating or bullying and if you do win you should be kind to your opponents.
  6. As a kid you think you know everything. You don’t, listen to your elders.
  7. When in trouble or unsure about something reach out for help. People do care about you and are able to provide support/advice. Don’t internalize your problems. They only get worse – Teachers, parents, therapists, pastors, God and prayer.
